One can see death as an end; or one can see it as a new beginning. Based on the idea that life and death are inseparable and complementary, Printemps studies the eternal tension that starts from loss, inertia, and our vulnerability, and goes towards movement, renewal, and wonder.

Les Percussions Claviers de Lyon and the dance company La Vouivre draw from Printemps the motifs of the round dance, the farandole that unites and opposes the theme of death and that of rebirth, revisiting these popular dances and rites that aimed to tame death if not to make it recede, and to regenerate the vital forces of the cosmos.

Enriched with new compositions by Gilles Dumoulin and the British composer Gavin Bryars, offers the vibrant vision of a world that starts moving again after a silence. An ode to life!
